Richard was correct on his stats about the extent of the destruction of the Amazon Rainforest
“During the past 40 years, close to 20 percent of the Amazon rainforest has been cut down—more than in all the previous 450 years since European colonization began.”
I have corrected my research notes and apologize for my error. I am relieved to learn I was wrong, and urge us all to continue our efforts to preserve this essential natural resource.
